We service boats at marinas, private docks, boat lifts, residences, and other suitable locations. Whether you are keeping up with routine maintenance or trying to determine why your boat is not running properly, our goal is to make getting the service you need easier.

Looking Beyond the Immediate Problem
Boat problems are not always as simple as replacing the first component that appears to have failed. The engine, fuel system, electrical system, batteries, controls, steering, and other components work together, and an issue with one system can sometimes create problems elsewhere.
Our approach to boat repair starts with determining what is happening and looking for the root cause of the problem. We take the time to diagnose the issue, evaluate related systems when necessary, and explain what we find before recommending a repair.
Repair capabilities include:
- Engine diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Fuel system repairs
- Electrical system diagnostics and repairs
- Cooling and ignition system repairs
- Starting and charging system repairs
- Steering system repairs
- Trim and tilt repairs
- Preventive inspections
If your boat is difficult to start, running poorly, losing power, displaying a warning, or experiencing another performance problem, contact Off The Chart Marine to arrange mobile boat repair in Wrightsville Beach.
Keep Your Boat Running Strong
Staying current with routine maintenance is one of the best ways to protect your boat's performance and reliability. Manufacturer recommended service can also provide an opportunity to identify developing problems before they become more expensive repairs or lead to an unexpected issue on the water.
Off The Chart Marine provides routine maintenance for inboard and outboard powered boats throughout Wrightsville Beach. Depending on your boat and engine, service may include oil and filter changes, lower unit service, water pump service, inspections, and other recommended maintenance.
Because we are mobile, many maintenance services can be completed where your boat is normally kept, saving you the trouble of transporting it to a shop for routine service.
100-Hour Maintenance Packages
For many boat owners, the 100-hour service is an important part of keeping an outboard engine properly maintained. The exact maintenance requirements can vary by manufacturer, engine model, operating conditions, and service history.
Off The Chart Marine offers mobile 100-hour maintenance packages for select Yamaha and Mercury outboards. We'll document your engine hours and complete the services included with the applicable package so you have a record of when scheduled maintenance was performed.

Experience Behind the Service
When you hire Off The Chart Marine, you work directly with owner and marine technician Dylan Lackey.
Dylan previously worked with marinas and marine dealerships in the Wilmington area and brings that professional experience to the boats he services today. His training includes Yamaha outboard certification training through Cape Fear Community College and Mercury outboard certification training through Mercury's online technical program.
His mechanical experience also extends beyond the marine industry. Before making marine service his full time focus, Dylan worked as an automotive and transmission mechanic.
That background has shaped the way he approaches boat repair and maintenance. Rather than making assumptions about what a boat needs, Dylan focuses on thorough diagnostics, attention to detail, clean and organized work, and straightforward recommendations.

Wrightsville Beach Boat repair & Maintenance FAQs
1. Can you work on a boat while it is on a boat lift?
In many cases, yes. Some repairs and maintenance can be completed while your boat is on a lift, depending on the work required, accessibility, and whether the service can be performed safely and properly. Let us know how your boat is stored and what it needs so we can determine whether the work can be completed there.
2. Should I have my boat inspected before a busy boating season?
Having your boat checked before you expect to use it frequently can be a good opportunity to identify maintenance needs or developing problems. Fluids, batteries, cooling components, starting and charging systems, and other important areas can be evaluated based on your boat, engine, and service history.
3. What information should I provide when scheduling a mobile boat repair?
Providing your boat and engine information, where the boat is located, and a description of the problem can help us prepare for the service call. If you have noticed warning alarms, unusual sounds, performance changes, starting problems, or know when the issue began, sharing those details can also be helpful when beginning the diagnostic process.
